Traditional A record maps to an IP address. It can not be mapped to a CNAME record. Some DNS providers solves this by allowing A Record to be aliased to a CNAME. For godaddy you have no luck on that. A solution you can work around with the A record in godadday is to redirect to www.yourdomain.com
